With Texas grit and knowhow, Eli McCullough (Pierce Brosnan) has built a formidable cattle and oil empire. But his insatiable ego and ambition might tear his family apart.

Check out the official trailer for the second and final season of AMC's multi-generational western drama "The Son," in which Brosnan returns to star as the domineering patriarch of a wealthy Texas family in the early 20th century.

The AMC series is based on the critically acclaimed best-selling novel of the same name by author Philipp Meyer, who also co-developed the television drama along with executive producers Brian McGreevy and Lee Shipman (creators of the Netflix horror series "Hemlock Grove").

In addition to Brosnan, the cast also includes Jacob Lofland (Maze Runner: The Death Cure), Sydney Lucas (The Skeleton Twins), Jess Weixler (The Good Wife), Henry Garrett (Poldark), David Wilson Barnes (Hell on Wheels), James Parks (The Hateful Eight), and Zahn McClarnon (Fargo).

"The Son: Season 2" is set to premiere Saturday, April 27th on AMC.

Eli McCullough (Pierce Brosnan) will stop at nothing to secure his legacy against the backdrop of the nascent oil industry of 1917. But the biggest challenge he faces will be quelling a civil war under his own roof, triggered by his idealistic son Pete.
