A failed art school student gets a chance to fulfill one of her childhood dreams -- to have her very own unicorn -- in Brie Larson's fantasy-tinged Netflix film "Unicorn Store," for which an official trailer has been released.

In addition to making her feature directorial debut, the "Captain Marvel" star also plays the lead role of Kit, a quixotic dreamer who, after being kicked out of art school, takes a temporary office job at a public relations firm where she receives a mysterious invitation to a magical place called "The Store" and is soon offered the opportunity to adopt a real-life unicorn. Of course, she must first prove herself to be worthy of such an animal.

Larson re-teams with her "Captain Marvel" co-star Samuel L. Jackson as he makes a special appearance as "the salesman," who is a magical wish-giver of sorts.

"You have come to 'the' store, Kit," Jackson says to a confused-looking Larson. "And I am 'the' salesman. Behold! We sell what you need."

And what she needs, at this time in her life plagued with self-doubt and personal insecurities, is a beautiful reminder of her youth -- hence, the unicorn.

Written by television writer Samantha McIntyre (FX's Married, TBS' People of Earth), "Unicorn Store" also co-stars Joan Cusack, Bradley Whitford, Mamoudou Athie, and Karan Soni.

The film, which premiered at TIFF last year, will be released on Netflix beginning April 5th.
