Lucy in the Sky — Official Teaser Trailer

Natalie Portman is sent into space, only to return to Earth with a whole new outlook on life in the first official trailer for the forthcoming astronaut film "Lucy in the Sky."

In this mind-bending existential drama, Portman stars as Lucy Cola, an NASA astronaut from a small southern town who, after returning home from a life-changing space mission, experiences a profound sense of heightened awareness -- and possibly a sense of desolation.

While able to disguise her inner conflicted feelings and emotions, Lucy is, however, unable to fully transition back into everyday life. She begins to lose touch with reality to the point where she is no longer in control of her own mind and body.

"I just feel a little off," says Portman's Lucy in the above trailer. "Go up there, you see the whole universe. And everything here looks so small."

Noah Hawley, the Emmy-winning creator of the acclaimed FX series "Fargo" and "Legion," makes his feature directorial debut with "Lucy in the Sky," which was written by "Legion" co-producer Brian C. Brown & Elliott DiGuiseppi, with script revisions by Hawley.

Co-starring Jon Hamm, Dan Stevens, Zazie Beetz, Pearl Amanda Dickson, and Oscar-winner Ellen Burstyn, "Lucy in the Sky" is coming to theaters later in the year.

In LUCY IN THE SKY, Natalie Portman plays astronaut Lucy Cola, who returns to Earth after a transcendent experience during a mission to space -- and begins to lose touch with reality in a world that now seems too small.
