Check out the official trailer for "William," a coming-of-age fantasy-drama that follows the life of a young Neanderthal man who was cloned from ancient DNA in a groundbreaking scientific experiment, yet raised in a loving home by two brilliant scientists.

Will Brittain (from "Everybody Wants Some" and "Kong: Skull Island") stars in this bittersweet life-affirming drama as the titular Neanderthal. Playing William's adoptive scientist parents are Waleed Zuaiter (from Netflix's "Altered Carbon") and Maria Dizzia (Netflix's "Orange Is the New Black").

Indie filmmaker Tim Disney (son of the late, Disney senior executive Roy E. Disney) directs from a script he co-wrote with J.T. Allen.

Co-starring Beth Grant, "William" is opening theatrically in New York and Los Angeles on April 12th, with other cities to follow. Watch the official trailer, above.

synopsis:
Doctors Julian Reed and Barbara Sullivan, fall in love with each other and with the idea of cloning a Neanderthal from ancient DNA. Against the express directive of University administrators they follow through on this audacious idea. The result is William: the first Neanderthal to walk the earth for some 35,000 years. William tries his best to fit into the world around him. But his distinctive physical features and his unique way of thinking--his "otherness"--set him apart and provoke fear. William's story is powerful and unique, but his struggle to find love and assert his own identity in a hostile world is universal--and timeless.
