Family — Official Trailer

Taylor Schilling tries to stop her teenage niece from becoming a juggalo in the official trailer for the upcoming dysfunctional aunt comedy "Family."

The "Orange Is the New Black" star plays a career-driven narcissist who has agreed to take time off work to look after her socially awkward, karate-obsessed 12-year-old niece (played by newcomer Bryn Vale) when her estranged brother and his wife are forced to leave town on short notice.

And though she doesn't have any interest in children, she tries her best to keep her misfit niece safe from harm's way -- that's until she realizes the little teen juggalo has secretly run off to attend an Insane Clown Posse concert.

Laura Steinel, a former staff writer on Amazon's 80s-set coming-of-age series "Red Oaks," makes her feature directorial and writing debut with "Family," which co-stars SNL cast member Kate McKinnon, Brian Tyree Henry (Atlanta, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse), Eric Edelstein (Jurassic World, Green Room), and Allison Tolman (Fargo, Krampus).

"Family," which premiered last year at SXSW to mostly positive reviews, is scheduled to open in select theaters on April 19th. Watch the official trailer, above.

Kate Stone's a self-absorbed workaholic. She's not good with kids. She's not good in most social situations. When her estranged brother, Joe, tracks her down to watch her awkward and bullied 12-year-old niece Maddie, Kate thinks babysitting for the week can't get any worse -- until Maddie runs away to become a Juggalo.
