In what looks like a cross between "Running Man" and "Elysium," here's the official trailer for the indie dystopian sci-fi thriller "Division 19."

Set in a grim future where prisoners are forced to fight each other for online entertainment, the world's most popular felon, Hardin Jones, makes a daring escape. As Hardin tries to evade the city's video surveillance system, his manhunt becomes one of the most watched online events ever. But like every good competition reality show, executives come up with ways of tilting the scales in their favor.

Starring Linus Roache (Mandy), Alison Doody (Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade), and Jamie Draven (Billy Elliot), "Division 19" is written and directed by British commercial helmer Suzie "S.A." Halewood.

The sci-fi thriller, which earned the Best Feature Film Award at the 2018 Boston Science Fiction Film Festival and also won the Critics' Award for Best Direction at the 2017 Fantasporto Film Festival, is hitting select theaters and VOD on April 5th. Watch the trailer, above.

synopsis:
In the future, prisons have been turned into online portals where paying subscribers get to vote on what felons eat, watch, wear and who they fight.

Panopticon TV is so successful it is about to be rolled out to a whole new town. When the world's most downloaded felon escapes, the authorities set a trap to reel him in. The bait is his little brother who has so far managed to avoid detection.
