Egyptian-American comedian Ramy Youssef sheds some light on what it's like being a young Muslim man living in today's America in Hulu's new slice-of-life comedy series "Ramy," for which an official trailer has been released.

Executive produced by comedian Jerrod Carmichael and co-produced by Oscar-winning indie studio A24, "Ramy" is set in a politically-divided New Jersey neighborhood and follows a twenty-something Egyptian-American man from a working-class Muslim family as he struggles to keep in touch with his cultural and religious roots.

Co-created by series star Ramy Youssef alongside "The Carmichael Show" co-creator Ari Katcher and Ryan Welch with Bridget Bedard (Transparent) serving as showrunner, the Hulu series also stars Palestinian actress Hiam Abbass (Blade Runner 2049, The OA) and Egyptian actor Amr Waked (Salmon Fishing in the Yemen) as Ramy's immigrant parents.

Composed by ten half-hour episodes, "Ramy: Season 1" is set to premiere April 19th exclusively on Hulu.

Ramy Hassan (Ramy Youssef) is a first generation Egyptian-American who is on a spiritual journey in his politically-divided New Jersey neighborhood.

RAMY will bring a new perspective to the screen as it explores the challenges of what it's like being caught between a Muslim community that thinks life is a moral test and a millennial generation that thinks life has no consequences.
