Chinese action star Max Zhang (aka Zhang Jin) reprises his role from "Ip Man 3" as the defeated challenger Cheung Tin-chi in this "Ip Man" spin-off sequel, which also stars celebrated Hong Kong-Malaysian actress Michelle Yeoh (Crazy Rich Asians, Star Trek: Discovery), "Guardians of the Galaxy" star Dave Bautista, and Thai martial arts star Tony Jaa (Furious 7, On-Bak).

Directed by legendary action choreographer/filmmaker Yuen Woo-Ping (Kill Bill, The Matrix, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon), "Master Z" is the latest entry in the popular "Ip Man" film franchise, which is focusing its attention on Cheung Tin-chi, a skilled fighter who, following his failed closed-door fighting match with Master Ip, has relocated in Hong Kong. While working modestly as a lowly waiter, he is soon drawn into the world of violence and corruption, involving local gangsters, drug traffickers and skilled assassins.

Co-starring Liu Yan, Chrissie Chau, and Kevin Cheng, "Master Z: IP Man Legacy" is hitting U.S. theaters on April 12th. In the meantime, you can check out the film's official U.S. trailer, above.

Legendary action director Yuen Woo-Ping draws on a stellar cast (Michelle Yeoh, Dave Bautista, Tony Jaa, and Max Zhang) to create a hard-hitting martial arts blast worthy of its place in the celebrated IP MAN universe.

Following his defeat by Master Ip, Cheung Tin Chi (Zhang), tries to make a life with his young son in Hong Kong, waiting tables at a bar that caters to expats. But it's not long before the mix of foreigners, money, and triad leaders draw him once again to the fight.
