Check out Taron Egerton's sweet vocal pipes as he belts out the classic songs of Elton John in this new official featurette for the upcoming musical biopic "Rocketman."

The "Kingsman" star is not only portraying the Grammy-winning legend in a new rock-n-roll drama but is also performing all of Elton John songs himself.

And from what we can gather from the above footage, Elton was more than pleased with Egerton's singing skills: "Elton said, I don't think I ever heard anyone sing my songs better than Taron."

"Rocketman" is a candid musical re-telling of Elton John's meteoric rise to rock-n-roll super-stardom throughout the late 1960s, '70s and the early 80s, beginning with his first meeting with his long-term songwriting partner, legendary lyricist Bernie Taupin (played here by Jamie Bell).

The film is directed by "Eddie the Eagle" helmer Dexter Fletcher (who stepped in and directed the final weeks of "Bohemian Rhapsody" when director Bryan Singer was abruptly fired from production) and was written by Oscar-nominated writer Lee Hall (of "Billy Elliot" and "War Horse").

Co-starring Bryce Dallas Howard as Elton's mother, Sheila Eileen, and Richard Madden as Elton's music manager John Reid, "Rocketman" is slated for a May 31st theatrical release.
