"Suicide Squad" star Karen Fukuhara plays an orphaned teenager with supernatural powers in the official trailer for the indie thriller "Stray."

Up-and-coming filmmaker Joe Sill, who previously made the 2016 Star Wars fan film "KARA," directs this supernatural-tinged mystery thriller about a detective investigating the mystifying murder of an Asian woman whose teenage daughter turns out to be a special girl with hidden powers.

Christine Woods (The Walking Dead, Hello Ladies) co-stars as the homicide detective who winds up joining forces with Fukuhara's character as they investigate her mother's baffling death, only to discover that an ancient supernatural force is threatening the city.

The cast also includes Japanese Pop Star Miyavi (Kong: Skull Island, Unbroken) and Ross Partridge (Stranger Things, Lamb).

Set to hit theaters and VOD on March 1st, "Stray" is co-written by J.D. Dillard and Alex Theurer, the team behind the superhero-tinged street magician thriller "Sleight."

synopsis:
An orphaned teenager teams up with the detective investigating her mother's murder. They soon discover a supernatural force threatening the city and realize the teen possesses hidden powers of her own which might be the key to stopping it.
