Golden Globe-winner Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer's critically acclaimed spy-vs-psychotic-assassin thriller "Killing Eve" is returning in April with its second season, and the network has released the first official Season 2 trailer, today.

Created and written by English actress/writer Phoebe Waller-Bridge (of "Fleabag" fame) and based on the "Codename Villanelle" novella series by author Luke Jennings, the drama follows a former MI5 agent-turned-national security officer named Eve Polastri (Oh) as she is tasked with hunting down a psychopathic, yet extremely skilled contract killer known as Villanelle (Comer).

While over the course of Season One, Eve and Villanelle develop a mutual obsession, which may have stemmed from a shared sense of respect but has now blossomed into an oddly genuine fondness for each other -- despite the fact that they did tried to kill each other in Season 1 and will likely do it again in Season 2.

"Killing Eve: Season 2" is due to premiere Sunday, April 7th, to air in the U.S. on BBC America and AMC, simultaneously. (Season 1 is currently available to stream on Hulu.)

synopsis:
Starring Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer, Killing Eve centers on two women: Eve (Oh) is a bored, whip-smart, pay-grade MI5 security officer whose desk-bound job doesn’t fulfill her fantasies of being a spy. Villanelle (Comer) is a mercurial, talented killer who clings to the luxuries her violent job affords her. Penned by Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Fleabag) and based on the novellas by Luke Jennings, Killing Eve will follow these two women, equally obsessed with each other, as they go head to head in an epic game of cat and mouse.
