Check out the official trailer for "The Hot Zone," National Geographic's forthcoming six-part mini-series about the deadly 1989 Ebola virus outbreak.

Based on the best-selling nonfiction book of the same name by New Yorker journalist Richard Preston, the Ridley Scott-produced series stars Emmy-winner Julianna Margulies (The Good Wife, ER) as an U.S. Army scientist who finds herself trying to stop a deadly Ebola virus from erupting into a full-blown outbreak in the U.S.

Based on true events, the cable drama also stars Topher Grace (BlacKkKlansman), Liam Cunningham (Game of Thrones), Grace Gummer (Mr. Robot), Noah Emmerich (The Americans), and James D'Arcy (Homeland).

"The Hot Zone" premieres Memorial Day, May 27th on the National Geographic network.

In 1989, Ebola landed on U.S. soil. After appearing in a research lab in D.C., a heroic U.S. Army scientist put her life on the line to prevent an outbreak.
