A heavily bearded Mark Hamill (of "Star Wars" fame) plays a grizzled Knight Templar veteran who is tasked with retraining a disgraced warrior monk ("Downton Abbey" alum Tom Cullen) in the new official trailer for Season 2 of History Channel's hit medieval drama "Knightfall."

The series, which is created by Don Handfield and Richard Rayner, delves into the shrouded world of the Knights Templar, a Catholic military order known for their involvement in numerous religious wars throughout the medieval period, most notably the Crusades.

Hamill joins the cast of Season 2, playing a new character named Talus. The show mainly revolves around Landry du Lauzon (Cullen), a senior brother of the Knights Templar and a veteran of the Crusades who, after a failed mission to relocate the Holy Grail, is now viewed as a disgraced Holy soldier, yet is given a chance for redemption. He is soon put through a rigorous retraining process led by Hamill's Talus.

Co-starring Ed Stoppard, Padraic Delaney, Simon Merrells, Julian Ovenden, Sam Hazeldine, and Jim Carter, "Knightfall: Season 2" is due to premiere March 25th on the History Channel.
