Get a behind-the-scenes look at DC's much-anticipated superhero movie "Shazam!"
The film, which stars Zachary Levi (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel), Asher Angel (Andi Mack), Jack Dylan Grazer (IT), and Mark Strong (lKingsman), tells the story of a 14-year-old kid named Billy Batson who, after an encounter with a mysterious ancient wizard (played by Guardians of the Galaxy's Djimon Hounsou), discovers that he's now able to transform himself into an adult superhero.
Asher Angel and Zachary Levi both play Billy Batson, one as his 14-year-old self and the other as his superhero alter-ego. Billy/Shazam is one of the rare superheroes who cherishes the idea of being a superhero. That's until he meets his first real bad guy -- a nefarious industrialist named Dr. Thaddeus Sivana (played by Strong).
Helmed by horror director David F. Sandberg (Lights Out, Annabelle: Creation), "Shazam!" is due out in theaters April 5th.
synopsis:
We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson's (Asher Angel) case, by shouting out one word -- SHAZAM! -- this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult Super Hero Shazam (Zachary Levi), courtesy of an ancient wizard. Still a kid at heart -- inside a ripped, godlike body -- Shazam revels in this adult version of himself by doing what any teen would do with superpowers: have fun with them! Can he fly? Does he have X-ray vision? Can he shoot lightning out of his hands? Can he skip his social studies test? Shazam sets out to test the limits of his abilities with the joyful recklessness of a child. But he’ll need to master these powers quickly in order to fight the deadly forces of evil controlled by Dr. Thaddeus Sivana (Mark Strong).
