The old Gods feel angry and abandoned in the new official trailer for Season 2 of "American Gods," Starz's acclaimed fantasy series based on Neil Gaiman's international best-seller of the same name.

Boasting a strong ensemble cast led by Ian McShane (Deadwood) as the enigmatic deity Mr. Wednesday and Ricky Whittle (The 100) as Wednesdays' reluctant errand boy/ex-convict Shadow Moon, the visually stylish fantasy series takes place in contemporary America where ancient mythological gods are secretly waging a war against new modern-day deities, while ordinary Americans are unknowingly caught in the crossfire.

Season 2 will continue Mr. Wednesday's quest for war while Shadow Moon will try to come to grips with the knowledge that Gods, old and new ones alike, not only exist but are extremely vengeful.

Among the returning cast members are Emily Browning, Pablo Schreiber, Crispin Glover, Orlando Jones, Peter Stormare, Yetide Badaki, Bruce Langley, Omid Abtahi, and Mousa Kraish, just to name a few.

Created by Michael Green and Bryan Fuller, both of whom have now left the series, "American Gods" returns with its second season on March 10th on Starz.

synopsis:
When Shadow Moon is released from prison, he meets the mysterious Mr. Wednesday and a storm begins to brew. Little does Shadow know, this storm will change the course of his entire life. Left adrift by the recent, tragic death of his wife, and suddenly hired as Mr. Wednesday's bodyguard, Shadow finds himself in the center of a world that he struggles to understand. It's a world where magic is real, where the Old Gods fear both irrelevance and the growing power of the New Gods, like Technology and Media. Mr. Wednesday seeks to build a coalition of Old Gods to defend their existence in this new America, and reclaim some of the influence that they’ve lost. As Shadow travels across the country with Mr. Wednesday, he struggles to accept this new reality, and his place in it.
