Robert Pattinson is an unlikely space traveler stuck on a drifting spaceship with a young infant child in the new official U.S. trailer for "High Life."
In this Kubrickian flashback-laden space thriller, the "Twilight" alum plays a death-row inmate who has volunteered to participate in a dangerous space expedition with several other death-row inmates. Subjected to bizarre medical tests, the volunteer prisoners (among them include Andre Benjamin and Mia Goth) soon discover that they're all part of a sadistic experiment orchestrated by the ship's mad doctor (played by Academy Award winner Juliette Binoche) who is determined to breed a human baby in space.
"High Life" is co-written and directed by acclaimed 72-year-old French filmmaker Claire Denis (Let the Sunshine In, White Material, Beau travail), who is making her English-language debut.
The film, which premiered to mostly positive reviews at last year's Toronto International Film Festival, will be released in U.S. theaters on April 12th, via A24 Films.
