Netflix has released the official U.S. trailer for their new British import "Black Earth Rising," starring "Chewing Gum" creator/actress Michaela Coel and Emmy-and-Golden Globe-winning actor John Goodman as a pair of war crime investigators.

The eight-episode British drama, which already aired in the U.K. last fall, follows a Rwandan-born British prosecutor and genocide survivor (played by Coel) as she is sent to her birthplace of Central Africa to investigate a disturbing criminal case involving the 1990 Rwandan genocide. Along the way, she is helped out by an American lawyer living in London (played by Goodman).

Written, directed, and produced by BAFTA-winner and Emmy-nominee Hugo Blick (The Honourable Woman, The Shadow Line), the series also co-stars Harriet Walter (The Crown), Broadway actress Noma Dumezweni (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child), and American TV actress Tamara Tunie (Better Call Saul).

"Black Earth Rising" premieres on Netflix beginning January 25th.
