It's time for Jon Snow (Kit Harington) to learn the truth about his mother's identity. And it's time for Sansa and Arya Stark (Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams) to learn the real story behind the death of their beloved aunt Lyanna. Or at least that's the impression you get from watching this new official teaser trailer for the eighth and final season of "Game of Thrones," which focuses on the remaining Stark children as they reunite in Winterfell while walking through the underground monuments of deceased Starks.

Jon, Sansa, and Arya stop at the statue of Lyanna Stark, who we learn from last season is Jon's biological mother, which makes Jon the legitimate son of Ned Stark's deceased sister, and not Ned's bastard son. Jon is also the son of the late, Prince Rhaegar Targaryen, which again gives Jon a legitimate claim to the iron throne. But if that's the case, that would mean Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) is Jon's biological aunt. Ooh-fa! Awkward!

Well, it looks like winter is here and it's going to be spilling over into April. And things are only going to get colder and likely bloodier.

So, mark your calendars for April 14th! "Game of Thrones" is returning quicker than expected, and we couldn't be more excited.

synopsis:
Summers span decades. Winters can last a lifetime. And the struggle for the Iron Throne has begun. It will stretch from the south, where heat breeds plots, lust and intrigues; to the vast and savage eastern lands; all the way to the frozen north, where an 800-foot wall of ice protects the kingdom from the dark forces that lie beyond. Kings and queens, knights and renegades, liars, lords and honest men...all will play the 'Game of Thrones.'
