Dev Patel (Lion) and Armie Hammer (Call Me by Your Name) are caught in a devastating terrorist attack in the new official trailer for "Hotel Mumbai."

Based on the harrowing true story of the 2008 Mumbai Attacks, this ticking-clock thriller depicts the events surrounding the deadly three-day terrorist siege of the five-star Taj Mahal Palace Hotel, during which staff members had bravely chosen to risk their lives to protect the hotel guests from armed terrorists.

Patel plays a young, courageous hotel waiter, while Hammer is an American who is traveling through India with his wife (Homeland's Nazanin Boniadi) and their newborn child. Veteran Indian actor Anupam Kher (The Big Sick, TV's New Amsterdam) is portraying real-life renowned chef Hemant Oberoi who, at the time, was the grand executive chef at the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel.

Other cast members include Australian actress Tilda Cobham-Hervey (One Eyed Girl) and British actor Jason Issacs (The Death of Stalin), both of whom play hotel guests.

Based off hundreds of hours of firsthand interviews, and inspired by the documentary "Surviving Mumbai," the thriller is the feature film debut of Australian-born filmmaker Anthony Maras, who also wrote the screenplay with Scottish scribe John Collee (Master and Commander, Happy Feet).

After earning strong reviews at last year's Toronto International Film Festival, "Hotel Mumbai" is being released in U.S. theaters on March 22nd.

A gripping true story of humanity and heroism, HOTEL MUMBAI vividly recounts the 2008 siege of the famed Taj Hotel by a group of terrorists in Mumbai, India. Among the dedicated hotel staff is the renowned chef Hemant Oberoi (Anupam Kher) and a waiter (Dev Patel) who choose to risk their lives to protect their guests.
