Captain Marvel — Behind-the-Scenes Featurette

Marvel has released a brand-new featurette for "Captain Marvel," which is giving viewers a behind-the-scenes peek at how Brie Larson prepared for her superhero role.

"By the time we started shooting I had been training for nine months," Larson reveals in the above clip, which features home video footage of her working out at the gym. And she's glad she did the work as the fight sequences in the film were exhausting. But she also acknowledges that it felt quite exhilarating. "I felt kind of alive," Larson admits with a grin.

Directed and co-written by the filmmaking team of Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck (Mississippi Grind, Half Nelson), "Captain Marvel" has the unique distinction of not only being Marvel's first female-led superhero film, but also the first to be set in the 1990s, which makes Captain Marvel (aka Carol Danvers) the first cosmic superhero in the MCU, chronologically speaking. The character is also anticipated to play a significant role in "Avengers: Endgame," the eagerly awaited conclusion to "Infinity Wars."

So, suffice it to say, "Captain Marvel" will certainly make a big impression this new year. The fun begins March 8th. Get tickets now.
