Acclaimed Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen is a plane crash survivor trying to find help in the official trailer for the forthcoming survival thriller "Arctic."
In what is basically a one-person drama, Mikkelsen (from "Doctor Strange" and "Rogue One") plays a resourceful survivalist who finds himself stranded in the middle of a frozen wasteland, after just surviving a terrible plane crash.
Desperate and losing hope, he decides that he must trek across the icy terrain while dragging a nearly unconscious, badly injured woman on a makeshift sled. The film follows Mikkelsen's character as he suffers through a series of harrowing ordeals, including a scary encounter with a polar bear.
The film is directed and co-written by first-time feature filmmaker Joe Penna, who is a popular Brazilian YouTuber known for creating fun, experimental music videos under the username MysteryGuitarMan.
Co-starring newcomer Maria Thelma Smaradottir, "Arctic," which premiered to strong reviews last summer at Cannes, is getting a U.S. theatrical release on February 1st.
