Taylor Schilling, of "Orange Is the New Black" fame, plays a worried mother who suspects her eight-year-old son is a genius -- an evil genius, that is -- in the new official trailer for "The Prodigy."

The upcoming thriller, directed by horror filmmaker Nicholas McCarthy (At the Devil's Door, The Pact), seems to be asking the question, what do you do when you discover your child has turned evil?

Well, in the case of Schilling's character, she immediately takes him to therapy. But we have a feeling that it's going to take more than therapy to save this kid from his sociopathic impulses.

"Mommy, will you always love me ... no matter what I do?" Yikes!

The film features Jackson Robert Scott in the title role -- he's the kid actor who played Georgie Denbrough in 2017's Stephen King horror blockbuster "IT."

Co-starring Colm Feore (House of Cards, The Borgias) as the kid's therapist and written by Jeff Buhler (upcoming Pet Sematary remake), "The Prodigy" is coming to theaters February 8, 2019.
