Marvel Entertainment has released the first official TV commercial for "Captain Marvel," which is offering another tantalizing peek at MCU's first female-led superhero movie.

The action film, set in the 1990s, stars Academy Award winner Brie Larson as the titular noble warrior hero. Samuel L. Jackson also stars, reprising his iconic role as S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Nick Fury. However, at this time in the '90s, Fury is a disgruntled, dissatisfied government secret agent who has yet to come across any superheroes or even heard of space aliens.

"So, the Skrulls are the bad guys," says a bewildered Fury before turning his head to Captain Marvel. "And you're a Kree, a race of noble warriors?" She quickly corrects him, "Noble warrior heroes."

Directed and co-written by the acclaimed filmmaking team of Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck (Mississippi Grind, Half Nelson), the Marvel movie follows Carol Danvers (aka Captain Marvel) as she travels to Earth to stop an elusive gang of villainous green-colored aliens with shape-shifting abilities, the Skrulls.

But as soon as she lands on Earth, Danvers starts to recall some of her past memories ... her human memories. As she was once a U.S. Air Force fighter pilot who had survived a severe accident during which her human DNA merged with alien Kree DNA, and therefore was recruited by an elite Kree intergalactic superhero team. Since then, Danvers lost most of her memories, but gained extraordinary superhero powers -- it's enough power to end a war all by her own sweet self.

Co-starring Ben Mendelsohn as Skrull leader Talos, with appearances by Jude Law and Annette Bening, "Captain Marvel" will zoom into theaters March 8th.

The story follows Carol Danvers as she becomes one of the universe's most powerful heroes when Earth is caught in the middle of a galactic war between two alien races.

Set in the 1990s, Captain Marvel is an all-new adventure from a previously unseen period in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
