Fighting with My Family — International Trailer

added: Mon, Dec 24th '18

A new international trailer has been released for "Fighting with My Family," the British wrestling comedy that's inspired by the inspirational true story of how English-born wrestler 'Paige' became an international WWE superstar.

Produced by Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, who also makes a cameo appearance as himself, the lighthearted wrestling film stars English actress Florence Pugh (Outlaw King, The Little Drummer Girl) as the semi-fictional version of WWE wrestler Paige, who started her sports career in the small English town of Norwich, but earned an opportunity to travel to America and wrestle for WWE after being selected during a highly competitive tryout.

Paige also has an interesting family background here, as she comes from a close-knit clan comprised entirely of local British wrestlers. "Shaun of the Dead" comedian Nick Frost and "Game of Thrones" actress Lena Headey co-star as Paige's wrestler parents, while "Dunkirk" actor Jack Lowden plays Paige's brother, Zak, who is also an aspiring wrestler trying to get a spot on WWE.

English comedian Stephen Merchant (co-creator of the British version of "The Office" and the HBO comedy series "Hello Ladies") writes and directs "Fighting with My Family," which also co-stars Vince Vaughn as a WWE talent scout.

The British film is scheduled to open in select U.S. theaters on February 14th and will expand nationwide on February 22nd. It's also expected to hit U.K. cinemas on March 1st.

Based on a true story, FIGHTING WITH MY FAMILY follows reformed gangster Ricky, wife Julia, daughter Paige and son Zak as they make a living wrestling together in tiny venues. When Paige and Zak get the opportunity to try out for WWE, the family grabs a once-in-a-lifetime chance to turn their wildest dreams into a dazzling future. However, brother and sister quickly discover that to become superstars, both their talent and their relationship will be put to the test.

FIGHTING WITH MY FAMILY is a heartwarming and smart comedy that proves everything is worth fighting for when it comes to family.
