Directed by Karyn Kusama and written by screenwriting duo Phil Hay and Matt Manfredi, the same creative team behind the critically acclaimed psychological horror movie "The Invitation," the upcoming dark cop mystery thriller also stars Sebastian Stan, Toby Kebbell, Tatiana Maslany, Scoot McNairy, Jade Pettyjohn, and Bradley Whitford.
Following a well-received premiere at this year's Toronto International Film Festival, "Destroyer" centers on a veteran police detective named Erin Bell (Kidman) who, after suffering for decades from a traumatic past event that happened while working undercover as a member of a deadly bank-robbing gang, faces an existential crisis.
The film is being released in select theaters on December 25th. It will then expand to more cities throughout January.
synopsis:
DESTROYER follows the moral and existential odyssey of LAPD detective Erin Bell who, as a young cop, was placed undercover with a gang in the California desert with tragic results. When the leader of that gang re-emerges many years later, she must work her way back through the remaining members and into her own history with them to finally reckon with the demons that destroyed her past.
