Cate Blanchett inexplicably goes missing in the first official trailer for director Richard Linklater's latest film "Where'd You Go, Bernadette."

Based on the 2012 "runaway" best-seller of the same name by author Maria Semple, the film tells the darkly comic story of a 15-year-old Seattle girl named Bee (played by newcomer Emma Nelson) who manages to convince her parents to take her on a family vacation trip to Antarctica, only to have those plans foiled by the mysterious disappearance of her eccentric housebound mother, Bernadette (Blanchett). Now Bee and her father (Billy Crudup) set off on a quest to track her down by following Bernadette's curious paper trail that includes emails, documents, and private memos.

Co-starring Kristen Wiig, Laurence Fishburne, Troian Bellisario, and Judy Greer, "Where'd You Go, Bernadette" is due to hit theaters August 16, 2019.
