The first official teaser trailer has been released for "Playmobil: The Movie," a new animated-adventure comedy inspired by the popular toy line franchise of the same name.

The film stars Anya Taylor-Joy (Split, The Witch) and Gabriel Bateman (Lights Out, The Dangerous Book for Boys) as Marla and Charlie, an older sister and younger brother who find themselves magically transported into a fantasy Playmobil toy world. When Marla, now transformed into a cherub-like Playmobil figurine, discovers her kid brother is missing somewhere in the Playmobil universe, she sets out on a quest to find him and bring him back home.

Along the way, she encounters a colorful cast of characters, including a laid-back food truck driver named Del (voiced by comedian Jim Gaffigan), a charismatic secret agent named Rex Dasher (Daniel Radcliffe), and a fairy-godmother (popstar Meghan Trainor).

Directed by "Frozen" and "Tangled" animator Lino DiSalvo (it's his feature directorial debut), "Playmobil: The Movie" is due to hit theaters, internationally, on August 9, 2019. As of yet, there's no official U.S. release date.
