Netflix has released the official trailer for the third and final season of Lemony Snicket's "A Series of Unfortunate Events," the offbeat Gothic adventure series based on Daniel Handler's best-selling kid's books.

Adapted from the last four books in the 13-volume "Unfortunate Events" novel series, the seven-episode third season will find the Baudelaire orphans (Malina Wassman, Louis Hynes) joining forces with Kit Snicket (Allison Williams), the adventurous sister of Lemony Snicket (Patrick Warburton) as they continue to fight to prevent their dastardly uncle Count Olaf (Neil Patrick Harris) from stealing their family inheritance.

Executive produced by Barry Sonnenfeld, Mark Hudis, and Handler, the series also co-stars K. Todd Freeman, Usman Ally, Matty Cardarople, John DeSantis, Tony Hale, Lucy Punch, and Roger Bart, while new to the cast are Max Greenfield, Peter MacNicol, Beth Grant, and Richard E. Grant.

Lemony Snicket's "A Series of Unfortunate Events: Season 3" (aka the final season) is set to premiere on Netflix beginning January 1, 2019.
