Amazon Studios has released a spoiler-filled featurette for "Suspiria," which offers a fascinating behind-the-scenes look at how prosthetic makeup artist Mark Coulier went on to create some of the film's most horrific death scenes, most notably the bone-crushing contorted dance sequence.

"During the process of the film, there's three girls who try to get out of the school -- and each one meets an untimely end," explains Coulier, whose job was to designed the film's practical makeup effects. "We've had several gory blood effects to do on this movie. There's a few key scenes where something brutal happens."

Directed by acclaimed Italian filmmaker Luca Guadagnino (Call Me by Your Name), "Suspiria," which is a modern-day remake of Dario Argento's cult 1977 supernatural horror classic, stars Dakota Johnson (Fifty Shades) as Susie Bannion, an American dancer who is enrolled in a prestigious European dance academy, which turns out to be a school run by witches.

Tilda Swinton (Doctor Strange, Okja) also stars as Madame Blanc, the school's enigmatic dance director. Chloe Grace Moretz and Mia Goth co-star.

Featuring an original score by Radiohead's Thom Yorke, "Suspiria" is currently playing in select theaters.

A darkness swirls at the center of a world-renowned dance company, one that will engulf the troupe's artistic director (Tilda Swinton), an ambitious young dancer (Dakota Johnson), and a grieving psychotherapist (Lutz Ebersdorf). Some will succumb to the nightmare. Others will finally wake up.
