One of the most popular and influential anime series to come out of the 1990s will soon be available on your television set.

Netflix has announced that they have just picked up the exclusive streaming rights to all 26 episodes of "Neon Genesis Evangelion," along with its two feature films "Evangelion: Death True" and "The End of Evangelion."

The hughly beloved animated sci-fi series, about the emotional and psychological journey of teenage mecha pilots who are being trained to helm large fighting robots in order to defend the human race against gigantic alien monsters, hails from acclaimed Japanese animator/filmmaker Hideaki Anno, whose credits also include the anime series "Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water" and most recently the hit kaiju film "Shin Godzilla."

"Neon Genesis Evangelion" will arrive on Netflix streaming worldwide in the spring of 2019.

synopsis:
A.D. 2015. Tokyo 3 is under attack by powerful creatures known as the Angels. The protagonist, Shinji Ikari, is chosen to pilot the Humanoid Decisive Weapon Evangelion -- the only way for humanity to fight against the Angels. The battle for the fate of humanity starts now. What exactly are the Angels? What fate awaits the young pilots and humanity itself?
