The captain of a deep space fishing vessel goes up against a giant floating space monster in this digital effects-heavy space-set thriller, which stars Holt McCallany, from the Netflix series "Mindhunters."

"Beyond White Space" is an ambitious low-budget sci-fi movie that marks the directorial debut of visual effects artist/supervisor Ken Locsmandi, whose effect credits include "Geostorm," "Transcendence," "Apocalypto," and "Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters."

The indie film, which also stars Zulay Henao (True Memoirs of an International Assassin), Tiffany Brouwer (Acts of Violence), Jocko Sims (New Amsterdam), James Devoti (Sicario: Day of the Soldado), Dave Sheridan (Ghost World), and Mike Genovese (ER), follows the crew of a deep space fishing vessel as they go on a Moby Dick-like mission to capture a gigantic space-drifting beast.

"Beyond White Space" is slated to hit select theaters and VOD on December 14th. Watch the trailer, above.

synopsis:
When a deep space fishing vessel is robbed by a gang of pirates, the Captain makes a daring decision to go after a rare and nearly extinct species. On the hunt, his obsession propels them further into space and danger as the crew spins into a downward spiral of mutiny and betrayal.
