Matthew Broderick plays a bumbling college professor who finds himself helping out a heartbroken Hasidic man as he seeks answers concerning his recently departed wife in the trailer for "To Dust."

Co-starring Hungarian Jewish actor Geza Rohrig (from "Son of Saul"), the quirky odd couple comedy marks the feature film debut of writer-director Shawn Snyder.

Produced by Emily Mortimer, Alessandro Nivola, and Ron Perlman, "To Dust" sees Broderick as Albert, a biology teacher at a local community college in New York City. When a Hasidic cantor named Shmuel (Rohrig) walks into Albert's class room and asks him strange scientific questions about the human decomposing process, the random encounter leads to an odd-couple relationship in which the two men embark on a road trip that quickly descends into darkly comic chaos.

After premiering at this year's Tribeca Film Festival, "To Dust" is now scheduled to hit select theaters on February 8, 2019.

synopsis:
Shmuel (Geza Rohrig), a Hasidic cantor in Upstate New York, distraught by the untimely death of his wife, struggles to find religious solace, while secretly obsessing over how her body will decay. As a clandestine partnership develops with Albert (Matthew Broderick), a local community college biology professor, the two embark on a darkly comic and increasingly literal undertaking into the underworld.
