When times get dark and things seem bleak, you can always count on Emmet to have an awesome attitude. The question is, can Emmet change with the times, especially when everything isn't so awesome?

Check out the new official trailer for "The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part," the much-anticipated sequel to 2014's animated action comedy blockbuster inspired by the best-selling LEGO construction toy line.

Once again featuring the voices of Chris Pratt and Elizabeth Banks as the Master Builder couple, Emmet Brickowski and Lucy "Wyldstyle," the film is now set in a Mad Max-like post-apocalyptic wasteland where the good people of Bricksburg must defend themselves from space invaders. But when Lucy is suddenly taken hostage by a shape-shifting alien horse queen (voiced by Tiffany Haddish), Emmet is forced to ditch his happy-go-lucky attitude and get tough and battle-ready as he sets out to rescue his girlfriend from space.

Will Arnett is also back as the voice of Lego Batman, while Pratt also voices Rex Dangervest, a space-traveling archaeologist, cowboy, and raptor trainer who helps Emmet on his quest to save his friends.

Produced by filmmakers Phil Lord and Chris Miller and helmed by "Trolls" director Mike Mitchell, "The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part" is coming to theaters February 8, 2019.

synopsis:
The much-anticipated sequel to the critically acclaimed, global box office phenomenon that started it all, "The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part," reunites the heroes of Bricksburg in an all new action-packed adventure to save their beloved city. It's been five years since everything was awesome and the citizens are facing a huge new threat: LEGO DUPLO invaders from outer space, wrecking everything faster than they can rebuild.

The battle to defeat them and restore harmony to the LEGO universe will take Emmet, Lucy, Batman and their friends to faraway, unexplored worlds, including a strange galaxy where everything is a musical. It will test their courage, creativity and Master Building skills, and reveal just how special they really are.
