Illumination Entertainment, the animation studio that gave us the popular "Despicable Me" franchise and the recent holiday hit "Dr. Seuss' The Grinch," has released a brand-new teaser trailer for "The Secret Life Of Pets 2," which offers a humorous introduction to Chloe, the chubby purple grayish cat, voiced by actress Lake Bell.

The film, a sequel to the 2016 animated blockbuster, has cast comedian Patton Oswalt as the voice of Max, the dog; a neurotic Jack Russell Terrier who lives in a Manhattan apartment with his human owner, Katie (voiced by Ellie Kemper).

Although plot details have been largely kept under wraps, the sequel will be directed by "The Secret Life of Pets" co-helmer Chris Renaud, working from a script again written by "The Secret Life of Pets" co-writer Brian Lynch.

In addition to Oswalt, Bell and Kemper, the voice cast will include returning voice actors Jenny Slate as Gidget, the white Pomeranian; Eric Stonestreet as Duke, Max's shaggy-dog roommate; Kevin Hart as Snowball, the bunny; Dana Carvey as Pops, the elderly Basset Hound; Albert Brooks as Tiberius, the curmudgeon red-tailed hawk; Hannibal Buress as Buddy, the laid-back dachshund and Bobby Moynihan as Mel, the hyperactive pug. Meanwhile, new voice cast members include comedians Tiffany Haddish, Nick Kroll, Pete Holmes, and the one and only Harrison Ford.

"The Secret Life Of Pets 2" is coming to theaters next summer, slated for June 7, 2019.
