Here's your final look at the highly-anticipated DC superhero movie "Aquaman."

"Justice League" star Jason Momoa reprises his role as Arthur Curry in this standalone action-adventure movie, which is delving into the personal history of the beloved half-human, half-Atlantean superhero.

Raised by his human father, a lighthouse keeper named Tom Curry (played here by veteran Maori actor Temuera Morrison), and trained to be a mighty sea warrior by Atlantean guardian Nuidis Vulko (Willem Dafoe), we see Arthur in various stages of his life as he tries to live up to his mother's enormous expectations.

"Legend has it that one day a new king will come -- who will use the power of the trident to put Atlantis back together again," says Queen Atlanna (Nicole Kidman) to an infant Arthur during the opening moments of this new trailer.

The comic book-based film, which is directed by acclaimed action/horror filmmaker James Wan ("Furious 7" and "The Conjuring" Films), also stars Amber Heard as Arthur's Atlantean cohort Mera and Patrick Wilson as Arthur's evil half-brother, Orm, an Atlantean prince who wants to rule over Atlantis and launch a war against the entire world -- or at least the world above sea level.

To save both the land and the sea from impending doom, Arthur sets off on a quest to retrieve Poseidon's mythical trident in order to fulfill his destiny of becoming a true hero.

Co-starring Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (The Greatest Showman) as Black Manta, a villainous treasure-hunter who dons a laser-powered techno suit with a bug-eyed helmet, "Aquaman" splashes into theaters December 21st.
