Scottish actress Karen Gillan, of "Guardians of the Galaxy" and "Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle" fame, makes her feature directorial debut with "The Party's Just Beginning," for which a trailer has been released.

The British indie film stars Gillan (who also wrote the screenplay) as Liusaidh, a down-in-the-dumps, twenty-something party girl who, while unable to cope with the recent suicide death of her best friend, finds herself struggling through an existential crisis, turning to sex and alcohol for relief.

In addition to Gillan, the cast also includes fellow "Guardians of the Galaxy" actor Lee Pace and English actor Matthew Beard (The Imitation Game).

After premiering at this year's Glasgow Film Festival and the Tribeca Film Festival, "The Party's Just Beginning" is now scheduled to open in select theaters on December 7th and then on VOD and Digital December 11th.
