The first official teaser trailer has been released for "Spies in Disguise," the latest film from the award-winning animation company Blue Sky Studios, who are the creative force behind such animated blockbusters as the "Ice Age" films and "The Peanuts Movie."
Featuring the voices of Will Smith and "Spider-man" actor Tom Holland, the animated spy comedy follows the adventures of the world's greatest super agent, Lance Sterling (voiced by Smith).
In the new trailer, we see Lance showing off his super-spy skills as he jumps out of a helicopter, breaks through a glass window, karate chops a bad guy, and then glides through the air with his special spy suit. But then things take a terrible turn -- to his surprise and dismay, Lance is turned into a small blue pigeon by his sidekick scientist partner, the boy genius Walter Beckett (voiced by Holland).
"Walter! What did you do?!" Lance screams.
"Pigeons are everywhere," Walter starts to explain. "And nobody notices them. It's the most perfect form a spy could take." Yeah, and it's also probably the most ridiculous disguise Lance has ever adopted.
Inspired by the animated short "Pigeon: Impossible" by Lucas Martell, "Spies in Disguise" will also feature the voices of Ben Mendelsohn, Karen Gillan, Rashida Jones, DJ Khaled, and Masi Oka.
The film is slated for a 2019 theatrical release.
