It's the most controversial film to come out of Cannes this year. And it's yet another shining example of why Danish auteur Lars Von Trier may be the most divisive filmmaker working today.

Check out the newly-released U.S. trailer for Von Trier's controversial horror movie "The House That Jack Built," which stars Matt Dillon as a 1970s architect named Jack, who is secretly a sadistic serial killer.

The dark thriller co-stars Uma Thurman, Riley Keough, Bruno Ganz, and Jeremy Davies.

Acquired by IFC Films, "The House That Jack Built" will be released in select U.S. theaters and on VOD beginning December 14th.

IFC Films is also planning to release the Director's Cut of the movie for a special "One Night Only" event on Wednesday, November 28th.

synopsis:
Boundary-pushing cinematic visionary Lars von Trier returns with one of his most daring, masterfully provocative works yet. In five audacious episodes, failed architect and arch-sociopath Jack (Matt Dillon) recounts the elaborately orchestrated murders -- each, as he views them, a towering work of art -- that define his "career" as a serial killer. Mixing pitch black humor, transcendent surrealism, and renegade musings on everything from history to architecture to cinema, von Trier fashions a radical, blazingly personal inquiry into violence, art, and the twin acts of creation and destruction.
