Will Uhtred of Bebbanburg break his oath to King Alfred the Great and finally reclaim his royal birthright?

Well, if you're looking for something to tide you over until "Game of Thrones" returns next year, you may want to dive into "The Last Kingdom," Netflix's highly-addictive Anglo-Saxons-versus-Viking-Danes drama, which is based on Bernard Cornwell's best-selling British historical book series, which is known in the U.S. as "The Saxon Chronicles."

The streaming company has just released the official Season 3 trailer for "The Last Kingdom," which continues the blood-soaked adventures of Uhtred of Bebbanburg (played here by American Horror Story's Alexander Dreymon).

Uhtred is a fierce 9th-century Viking warrior who is seeking to reclaim his birthright. Son of a Saxon nobleman, yet kidnapped and raised by Viking Danes, Uhtred has returned to his homeland to take back the throne of Bebbanburg. His plans are soon derailed when he grudgingly swears allegiance to King Alfred of Wessex (Ripper Street's David Dawson) who, despite ailing from a serious intestinal disease, rules over the last remaining English kingdom, while fighting against the ferocious Viking Dane army.

Co-starring Emily Cox, Ian Hart, Harry McEntire, Tobias Santelmann, Eliza Butterworth, and Ola Rapace, "The Last Kingdom" returns with its third season on Monday, November 19th, exclusively on Netflix.
