Okay, forget the Marvel universe and all those different superheroes with different superpowers. 'Cause this is the Spider-Verse!

It's an alternate universe that is literally crawling with "Spider-People," which includes a middle-aged Peter Parker (voiced by New Girl's Jake Johnson), an overly-eager Miles Morales (Shameik Moore), and a kick-ass Gwen Stacy (Hailee Steinfeld). And just when you thought things couldn't get any weirder, there's also a talking pig, Spider-ham (voiced by comedian John Mulaney).

Feast your eyes on a new trailer for the totally-bonkers 3D cartoon movie "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse," which is hailing from Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, the directors of "The Lego Movie" and the "Jump Street" comedies, and is co-directed by animators Bob Persichetti and Peter Ramsey (Rise of the Guardians), and screenwriter Rodney Rothman (22 Jump Street).

"Atlanta" actor Brian Tyree Henry co-stars as the voice of Miles' policeman father, Jefferson Davis, while Nicolas Cage lends his voice to Spider-Man Noir, a dark alternative version of Spider-Man who happens to come from the Depression era.

"Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse" is due out on December 14th.
