After six seasons of playing the fan-favorite good-guy Glenn Rhee on AMC's hit zombie series "The Walking Dead," Steven Yeun is getting a chance to show off his dark side.

In his first ever Korean-speaking role, Yeun plays a nefarious rich playboy in the Korean mystery thriller "Burning," for which a new official U.S. trailer has been released.

Recently selected as South Korea's official entry in the foreign-language category for the Oscars, "Burning" is the latest film from acclaimed South Korean filmmaker and novelist LEE Chang-dong (Poetry, Secret Sunshine).

The psychological mystery thriller, which won the FIPRESCI Prize at this year's Cannes Film Festival, is based on the short story "Barn Burning" by Japanese writer Haruki Murakami.

The film stars Korean actor Ah-in YOO as a young shy, introvert whose slow-moving life is turned upside down when he strikes up a relationship with a free-spirited woman (played by newcomer Jong-seo JUN), who just so happens to be romantically involved with a dangerous mystery man (played here by Yeun).

When asked what does he do for fun, Yeun replies, "Sometimes, I burn down greenhouses. I choose an abandoned greenhouse, and I set it on fire. You can make it disappear ... as if it never existed." Whoa, did Glenn just turned into Negan?

"Burning" is due to open theatrically in New York on October 26th and in Los Angeles on November 2nd before rolling out nationwide on Nov. 9th.

synopsis:
BURNING is the searing examination of an alienated young man, Jongsu (Ah-in Yoo), a frustrated introvert whose already difficult life is complicated by the appearance of two people into his orbit: first, Haemi (newcomer Jong-seo Jun), a spirited woman who offers romantic possibility, and then, Ben (Steven Yeun), a wealthy and sophisticated young man she returns from a trip with. When Jongsu learns of Ben's mysterious hobby and Haemi suddenly disappears, his confusion and obsessions begin to mount, culminating in a stunning finale.
