Creed II — New Official Trailer

Boxing star Adonis "Creed" Johnson (Michael B. Jordan) learns what he's fighting for in the new official trailer for "Creed II," the highly anticipated sequel to Ryan Coogler's 2015 box-office smash, and the latest chapter in the Rocky Balboa saga.

The upcoming film, which, this time around, is directed by acclaimed filmmaker Steven Caple Jr. (of the Sundance hit drama "The Land"), sees Adonis Creed stepping back into the ring to take on his biggest boxing foe yet -- Viktor Drago (played here by real-life Romanian boxer Florian Munteanu), who is the monster-sized boxing son of infamous Russian fighter Ivan Drago, from "Rocky IV," once again played by Dolph Lundgren.

Though the match would give Adonis a chance to avenge his father's death, there's something he hadn't considered: Is the risk worth the reward, and is it worth losing his family?

"Don't do this," urges Rocky (again played by Sylvester Stallone) to a defiant Adonis, who quickly responds, "I ain't got a choice." "That's the same thing your father said," Rocky intones. "As he died right here in my hands."

The trailer ends with a moving speech from Adonis: "Round after round, you learn more about yourself. And when I stepped into that ring ... it wasn't all about me."

Tessa Thompson returns to play Bianca, Adonis's girlfriend who is now the mother of their young child. Phylicia Rashad is also reprising her role as Adonis's stepmother and Apollo's widow, Mary Anne Creed.

Written by Stallone and Juel Taylor from a story by Stallone, who also produces alongside Ryan Coogler, "Creed II" is hitting theaters everywhere November 21st.

Life has become a balancing act for Adonis Creed. Between personal obligations and training for his next big fight, he is up against the challenge of his life. Facing an opponent with ties to his family's past only intensifies his impending battle in the ring. Rocky Balboa is there by his side through it all and, together, Rocky and Adonis will confront their shared legacy, question what’s worth fighting for, and discover that nothing's more important than family.

Creed II is about going back to basics to rediscover what made you a champion in the first place, and remembering that, no matter where you go, you can't escape your history.
