Emmy-and-Golden Globe-winning actress Toni Collette plays a British therapist trying to save her bland marriage by entering into an open relationship with her husband in the new U.S. trailer for the British series "Wanderlust."

Written by award-winning playwright Nick Payne (The Sense of an Ending, If There Is I Haven't Found It Yet) and based on one of his stage plays, the six-episode series explores the provocative question, "Is an open marriage a happier, more satisfying marriage?"

The British drama also stars Steven Mackintosh (from "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels" and the "Underworld" films) as Collette's adoring, yet romantically unsatisfied husband, while the supporting cast includes Sophie Okonedo (Hotel Rwanda), Zawe Ashton (TV's Fresh Meat), and Paul Kaye (HBO's Game of Thrones).

The series, which has already begun airing in the UK, features half of its episodes directed by English TV helmer Luke Snellin (The A Word, Our Girl, My Mad Fat Diary) with the other half directed by "The End of the F---ing World" helmer Lucy Tcherniak.

"Wanderlust" is set to make its US debut next month, streaming October 19th on Netflix.

synopsis:
Wanderlust looks at how we build and maintain happy relationships and asks whether lifelong monogamy is possible -- or even desirable. Toni Collette plays Joy Richards, a therapist trying to find a way to keep her spark alive with her husband after a cycling accident causes them to reassess their relationship. As we meet her family, friends, neighbours and clients, remarkable yet relatable stories of love, lust and forbidden desire emerge.
