The only thing that can save Earth from an intergalactic war is a teenage girl's beaten-up VW bug called "Bumblebee." Check out the new official trailer for the eagerly anticipated "Transformers" spinoff that stars Hailee Steinfeld and John Cena.

The latest adventure of the Autobots Vs. Decepticons live-action saga is a reboot of sorts that takes place in 1987 before the events of the earlier "Transformers" films. Which focuses on Hailee Steinfeld playing a 18-year old Californian girl named Charlie, who comes across a yellow VW bug that has a mind of its own. Unfortunately for Charlie and her new out-of-this-world friend, they soon find themselves being tracked and hunted down by an intimidating military officer named Agent Burns (played by John Cena), who has already marked Bumblebee as an intergalactic enemy of Earth.

"Bumblebee" is directed by former Laika stop-motion studio president Travis Knight, who previously made his directorial debut with the critically acclaimed animated movie "Kubo and the Two Strings." The film also co-stars Jorge Lendeborg Jr., Jason Drucker, Abby Quinn, Rachel Crow, Ricardo Hoyos, Gracie Dzienny, Pamela Adlon, Kenneth Choi, and John Ortiz.

Look for "Bumblebee" to roll its way into theaters this Holiday Season, starting on December 21st.

synopsis:
On the run in the year 1987, Bumblebee finds refuge in a junkyard in a small Californian beach town.
