From the writer of HBO's "True Detective" comes a new pulpy crime tale about a hollow-eyed hit-man (Ben Foster) and a scared teenage prostitute (Elle Fanning) who forge a genuine friendship while trying to escape the city as they run from a ruthless mobster (Beau Bridges) who wants them dead.

Check out the new official trailer for "Galveston," which is the English-language directorial debut of French actress-turned-filmmaker Melanie Laurent, who previously helmed the French dramas "Diving," "Breathe," and "The Adopted," but is perhaps better known to American audiences for co-starring in the films "Inglourious Basterds," "Beginners," and "Now You See Me."

Based on the crime novel of the same name by Nic Pizzolatto, the film co-stars Lili Reinhart, Robert Aramayo, and C.K. McFarland.

"Galveston," which premiered back in March at SXSW, and is currently set to screen this weekend at the LA Film Festival, will be released in U.S. theaters and VOD on October 19th.

Roy (Ben Foster) is a heavy-drinking criminal enforcer and mob hit man whose boss set him up in a double-cross scheme. After killing his would-be assassins before they could kill him, Roy discovers Rocky (Elle Fanning), a young woman being held captive, and reluctantly takes her with him on his escape. Determined to find safety and sanctuary in Galveston, Roy must find a way to stop his boss from pursuing them while trying to out-run the demons from his and Rocky’s pasts.
