"Straight Outta Compton" star Jason Mitchell discovers he's the only black guy invited to an all-white weekend birthday party in the new official trailer for the thought-provoking drama "Tyrel."

Written and directed by Chilean-born indie filmmaker Sebastian Silva (Nasty Baby, Crystal Fairy & the Magical Cactus), the film takes place over an alcohol-fueled weekend, during which a group of close friends are celebrating a birthday party at a vacation cabin in the Catskills.

Mitchell plays the title character, Tyrel, who's been invited to the birthday bash by his white friend (played here by Christopher Abbott, from TV's "The Sinner" and "Girls"). And though he's welcomed with opened arms, Tyrel, the lone black guy in the room, can't help but to feel like the odd-man-out -- and can't help but to feel increasingly uneasy with all the frat-boy humor and brash display of one-upmanship.

Co-starring Michael Cera, Get Out's Caleb Landry Jones, and Emmy-winner Ann Dowd, "Tyrel," which premiered to strong reviews at this year's Sundance, will be released in theaters December 5th.

synopsis:
TYREL follows Tyler, who joins his friend on a trip to the Catskills for a weekend birthday party with several people he doesn't know. As soon as they get there, it's clear that (1) he's the only black guy, and (2) it's going to be a weekend of heavy drinking. Although Tyler is welcomed, he can't help but feel uneasy in "Whitesville." The combination of all the testosterone and alcohol starts to get out of hand, and Tyler's precarious situation starts to feel like a nightmare.
