Check out the final trailer for "The Sisters Brothers," the darkly comic, offbeat western thriller that stars Joaquin Phoenix and John C. Reilly as two drastically different and extremely contentious brothers, Charlie and Eli Sisters, who work together as a notorious pair of hired gunslingers.
Based on the acclaimed novel of the same name by author Patrick Dewitt, the movie also stars Jake Gyllenhaal and Rogue One's Riz Ahmed.
The film, which marks the English-language debut of award-winning French filmmaker Jacques Audiard (A Prophet, Rust and Bone), just premiered to rave reviews at the Venice Film Festival where it won the Silver Lion Award for Best Director.
Set in 1851 Oregon during the great California Gold Rush, the movie follows Charlie and Eli Sisters (Phoenix and Reilly) who's been hired to hunt down and assassinate a thieving prospector (Ahmed). But to the brothers' surprise, the prospector has enlisted the services of a former lawman-turned-bounty hunter (Gyllenhaal) who has just agreed to be the prospector's new business partner.
"The Sisters Brothers" is now playing in select theaters and will open in additional cities throughout October.
