Stan & Ollie — International Trailer

John C. Reilly (Step Brothers, Chicago) is nearly unrecognizable as he transforms himself into famed Hollywood slapstick star Oliver "Ollie" Hardy, who is one half of the legendary comedy double act, "Laurel and Hardy," in the upcoming biopic "Stan & Ollie."

Also starring Steve Coogan (Philomena, Alan Partridge) as British-born comic Stan Laurel, the upcoming film covers Laurel and Hardy's final years, telling the untold story of what would become their farewell comedy tour through Britain and Ireland in 1953, which was hampered by Hardy's fading health problems and a general decline in popularity.

Shirley Henderson (Bridget Jones) and Nina Arianda (Florence Foster Jenkins) also star as Laurel and Hardy's respective wives, Lucille and Ida.

The film is written by Oscar-nominated "Philomena" screenwriter Jeff Pope and directed by "Filth" helmer Jon S. Baird.

"Stan & Ollie" has been selected to premiere next month as the closing night film for the 2018 BFI London Film Festival.

Though acquired by Sony Pictures Classics, the film doesn't have an official U.S. release date, as of yet, but is expected to open in the U.K. in January. Watch the newly-released international trailer, above.
