Everybody's favorite flying nanny has returned! And you better believe she's going to bring the magic back into our hearts.
Check out the new official full-length trailer for Disney's upcoming "Mary Poppins" sequel, which sees English actress Emily Blunt (A Quiet Place, The Devil Wears Prada) stepping into the iconic role played by Julie Andrews in the 1964 Disney musical classic.
Set 20 years after the events of the original movie, and centering on the Banks kids who are now all grown up with children of their own, the London-set musical also stars Ben Whishaw and Emily Mortimer as the grown-up versions of Michael and Jane Banks, with Tony-winning "Hamilton" star/creator Lin-Manuel Miranda as a street lamplighter, named Jack.
The cast also includes Meryl Streep as Mary's eccentric cousin, Topsy; Colin Firth as Fidelity Fiduciary Bank manager William Weatherall Wilkins, and 91-year-old Dick Van Dyke makes a guest appearance as retired bank chairman Mr. Dawes Jr. with legendary actress Angela Lansbury as "the Balloon Lady."
Based upon The Mary Poppins Stories by PL Travers and written by two-time Oscar-nominated screenwriter David Magee (Finding Neverland, Life of Pi) with a screen story by Magee and director Rob Marshall (Into the Woods, Chicago), "Mary Poppins Returns" is hitting theaters nationwide on December 19th.
