Netflix has released a brand-new trailer for "Maniac," the new ten-episode limited series from Emmy-winning director Cary Joji Fukunaga (True Detective, Beasts of No Nation), which stars two-time Oscar-nominee Jonah Hill and Oscar-winner Emma Stone.

Based on the darkly comic Norwegian series of the same name, "Maniac" centers on Annie Landsberg (Stone) and Owen Milgrim (Hill), two emotionally troubled strangers who find themselves inexplicably drawn together when they participate in the same clinical trial for a new mind-altering drug, which is said to cure depression and other mental ailments.

Written and created by TV producer/writer Patrick Somerville (The Leftovers, The Bridge), the Netflix mini-series also stars Justin Theroux (The Leftovers) as Dr. James K. Mantleray, an eccentric psychoanalyst who runs the pharmaceutical testing facility.

The cast also includes Oscar-winner Sally Field, Sonoya Mizuno (Ex Machina), Billy Magnussen (Game Night), Jemima Kirke (Girls), and Julia Garner (Ozark).

With Joji Fukunaga directing the entire series, "Maniac" is set to stream on Netflix next week, beginning Friday, September 21st.
